  • Where Does Curt Hitch Tube Opening Sit on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee When Installed
  • I was able to find a better picture that shows where the hitch opening of the Curt front hitch part # C31048 will be when installed on a similar Jeep Grand Cherokee as your 2002 model that I attached to this page. It basically just sits right below the front bumper. I also lightened up the picture you mentioned so that you can see where it's at on that picture as well.

  • Loose Tension Chain on the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains
  • I would first check to make sure that you received the same size chain in both kits. There should be a two digit number on the green hooks, as long as they all match then this is not the issue. I would then check to make sure all tires are the same brand, even if they are all the same size there could be some discrepancy in regards to physical size. Once these are both checked then you may just have the chain slightly off center on the tire so I recommend just taking it off and then reinstalling....

  • Does Wiring Harness for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Require Activating Tow Package Wiring Circuit
  • If your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the factory tow package and you are using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harnesse # C55774 you will need to go to your local Jeep dealer and have them re-flash your Jeep's computer in order to activate the tow package wiring circuit.

  • What is the Maximum Speed Rating for Konig XG12 Tire Chains
  • I checked with Konig and tire chains TH2004705265 are rated for 50 kilometers per hour which is the same as 31 miles per hour. On a 4x4 vehicle it is better to put the chains on the main drive wheels which on a 4x4 is the rear set.

  • Is The TireMinder TPMS Signal Booster Hard Wire or Alligator Clips?
  • The TireMinder TPMS for Single Axle Trailers # TPMS-TRL-2 will come with alligator clips as shown in the pictures. It can be installed either with the alligator clips for a more temporary installation with quick removal. Or I recommend hard wiring it if you plan on using the sensors frequently with no risk of the device draining the battery. The alligator clips may fall off their connections when driving since they are held by spring tension.

  • Brake Controller Plug Location on 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • The factory brake controller connector on your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is located under the dash behind the hood latch, as shown in the provided photo. Keep in mind, the connector will only be there if the vehicle has the factory tow package which includes the 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper. If you have the tow package, to install the Tekonsha # TK90160 Primus brake controller on your 2021 Grand Cherokee you'll need the Tekonsha # TK93VR wiring harness. One end plugs into...

  • How Does The Blue Ox Patriot Know When Motorhome Brakes Are Applied?
  • The way the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR works is, by using an in coach RF controller that plugs into the 12V outlet in your motorhome. The accelerometer or deceleration sensor in the RF controller senses the braking action of the motorhome and sends a signal to the brake system in the towed vehicle when you apply the brakes. Which then the RF sensor in the motorhome will send a signal to your Patriot, and will apply the brakes in the same proportion of the motorhome. I have attached a...

  • Does Curt Echo Brake Controller C51180 Install Without Hardwired Connection
  • As long as your Jeep's 7-way has an active 12V power circuit you can install the Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 without having to do any wiring at all. The presence or absence of the blue brake circuit wire makes no difference to the Echo. If you refer to the linked photo of a 7-way you'll see the 12V circuit contact at the 1:00 position. You can check for power there using a circuit tester like # PTW2992. The Echo simply plugs into the Grand Cherokee's 7-way. It will pass...

  • Does Front Hitch for 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Require Removal of Underbody Panel
  • I believe by front skid plate you are referring to the underbody panel when installing the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31033 on your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This will need to be removed initially, and you can either leave it off or you can trim it and then re-install it. I have added a cut out showing this from the linked installation instructions of the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31033.

  • What Needs to be Removed to Install the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit for a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • I am going to send you a copy of the installation instructions for the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 1411-1 also, but it looks like you will need to remove the tow hooks (if equipped), the two bolts securing the radiator cross members, the plastic splash guard retainer located behind the rear cross member bolt and the bolts for the tubular cowl support from the cross member.

  • Installing REDARC Tow Pro Brake Controller in 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Not all 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee's had the factory wiring connector. If you do not, then I recommend the # ETBC7 Universal Trailer Wiring Kit. This will give you all the circuit breakers, connections, and wire needed to add an electric brake controller like # RED44FR. This will work on either left or right hand drive vehicles. The trailer brake fuse is most likely used for your 4 way connector. If you don't already have a 4-way flat, you will need # 118727 to allow you to use the # ETBC7 kit.

  • Adding A Wiring Harness To Your HItch Receiver Of 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # 118727, will work with your vehicle. I also understand the desire to have a clean look after installing your trailer hitch wiring harness, I can attest to how sloppy it can look on your vehicle as I have a trailer hitch wiring harness hanging on my vehicle. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket, part # HM40975, will fit into this cut out in your hitch...

  • Do You Flat Tow With the Ignition On or Off with a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • According to the owners manual on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the vehicle needs to be turned OFF, according to Step 13. I have attached a picture with the section in the owner's manual where it details the flat towing procedures that you'll need to follow in order to safely tow your 2019 Grand Cherokee without damaging the drive train.

  • Can New T-Track Strip be Used to Reduce Whistling With Open Sunroof for 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Even with the most aerodynamic crossbars you will still hear whistling when you open the sunroof on your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee because you are changing the way the air flows. Since your Jeep is a '16 you likely have the older AeroBlade Thule crossbars which unfortunately aren't compatible with the newer QuickAccess Interface Top T-Track Strip like part # 1500052989 (I honestly think this is a major design flaw from Thule). Even if you could I don't believe it is the T-Slot that is causing...

  • Installing SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System on 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • It sounds like you are referring to the "Monitor Light" that is installed in the towed vehicle for the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 that you referenced. This bright LED strip is important and should be kept in your line of site, as it indicates that the towed vehicle's brakes are engaged. If you are pulling your Jeep and see this light illuminated in your rear view mirror when it shouldn't be (you aren't braking), you will want to stop immediately, as it indicates...

  • Are Wheel Bolts and Lug Nuts Torqued to the Same Specs
  • Yes. Wheel bolts should be torqued to the same specs as their lug nut counterparts of the same size. If you don't have a torque wrench already, the Powerbuilt Dual Drive Torque Wrench - 3/8" and 1/2" - 10 to 150 ft-lb # ALL944001 would be a good pickup.

  • Mounting The Tow Bar Wiring Bracket On A 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • If you look at the 10 minute mark of the attached video you'll see Shane took the wiring bracket that came with the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98950 and bolted it to the bumper beam. Once you have it attached you'll just have to cut the fascia to allow for the wiring from your RV to plug into your vehicle.

  • Is an Adapter Needed to use Reese Tow Bar with Roadmaster Base Plates
  • You will need an adapter to attach your Reese tow bar to the Roadmaster base plates. The adapter is # RM-025. But check the specs on your Reese tow bar because I believe it is the same as # 63180. And if that is the case then it is only rated for 45 miles per hour. I would consider using a different tow bar that is a direct fit to the base plates and does not have a 45 mile per hour speed restriction such as the Falcon 2 # RM-520, or even the Tracker # RM-020.

  • Brake Controller Installation on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ OEM 7-Way Trailer Connector
  • Since your Grand Cherokee is equipped with the factory 7-way trailer connector (if it says Mopar on the flap covering the 7-way, it's the factory connector), the brake controller connection has been partially wired, but there isn't a plug and play option for installing a brake controller. Jeep will have ran the brake controller output circuit from under the dash on the driver's side back to the 7-way. Look for a coiled up blue or light green wire located near the emergency brake pedal...

  • Installation of Trailer Wiring Harness and Other Parts for Towing with a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • The wiring harness # 118381 plugs into a connector that is behind the rear bumper. However, it is not confirmed to fit your Jeep since you don't have the factory tow package. On your 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee you need # 118394 which plugs in on both sides behind each tail light. I've linked an installation video for you to take a look at. Also, if you don't already have a trailer hitch receiver I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75338. It installs using 4 bolts. I've also linked this installation...
